Manuscript Reviewing Guidelines
What does it mean to review a manuscript for Interlace?
A reviewer is expected to
- check the correctness of the mathematics in the manuscript.
- give feedback on the clarity of descriptions of craft techniques.
- comment on the structure/organization of the manuscript and, if needed, make suggestions for improvement.
- notice the notation used and, if needed, suggest improvements.
- make comments and corrections on grammar if the reviewer notices issues while reading.
- use a helpful, mentoring tone, even for rejected manuscripts.
- check the cited references (both mathematical and nonmathematical) for appropriateness and correct interpretation, as reasonable (please specify any unchecked references in the review).
- if the author does not reference relevant work, suggest appropriate additions to the references.
- make an effort when reviewing a manuscript to respect the style of the author.
